Scott Frank Brock (Boyd), 54, formerly of Independence, Mo., passed away Monday, May 16, 2022, in Pocatello, Idaho. Scott was born to Frances Jane Brock and Eugene Baldwin, Jr. in Cape Girardeau on May 28, 1967. After the family moved to the Kansas City area, Fran married David Boyd, who adopted Scott and his brother in 1974. Scott attended Messiah Lutheran and Blackburn Elementary schools, Bridger Junior High, and Truman High School in Independence, and graduated in 1985. He was a member of the Truman Cross Country team. After graduation, Scott joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Hohenfels, West Germany and El Paso, Texas.
Scott was a respiratory therapist. His career took him to many cities across the United States, and he made many friends during his travels. He enjoyed playing guitar, hiking the mountains, and his love for his pets – both cats and dogs – was well known by family and friends. Scott’s travels took him to Ukraine where his daughter Lera grew up, but who is now a refugee in Poland with her mother and half-sister Karina.
Scott is survived by his father, David Boyd and wife Betty Boyd, his brother Brady Boyd, and his daughter Valeria (Lera) Primak. There will be no services, but those who wish to donate in his memory are encouraged to contribute in any way to the Ukrainian people in their struggle against the Russian invasion.
