Carter Messner fired a three-over par 39 to lead the Blue Springs South to a 174-189 win over Truman Tuesday.
The score was Messner’s lowest round of the year. Juniors Ethan Wegner and Camron Haas gave Messner some support by shooting 42 and 44, respectively. Two 49s were turned in by Miles Buttress and Kevin Schlenger. Jacob Krahenbuhl completed the scoring with a 52.
“Carter has played consistent golf all season long,” South coach Ted Linke said. “Today he made a couple of great putts to go with a bunch of solid shots. It was good to see him come in with a low number."
Fort Truman, Zach Davenport led the team with a 44, Tanner Beuttgenbach shot a 46, Cater Wiley shot a 49, Blake Jones shot a 50, Josh Evans shot a 52 and Braden Thomas had a 53.
