Youth soccer clubs ALBA FC and KC Select have announced that they will merge.
The combined KC Select Club will consist of more than 1,100 competitive and recreational players, 50 coaches and 100 teams ranging in ages 5-18. KC Select is already signed as the anchor soccer tenant of the $400 million Paragon Star development located near the intersection at Interstate 470 and View High Drive in Lee’s Summit. Paragon Star expects to complete the soccer fields by fall 2017.
“The primary benefit of the merger is to add quality coaches, players and families to further strengthen our existing base of members,” Chris Travalent, president of KC Select, said in a press release. “Chris Dean from ALBA will also be an excellent leader as one of our directors of coaching. We look forward to expanding KC Metro area soccer opportunities by bringing together two clubs with common core values. We will continue to emphasize family values, individual player education and age-appropriate team training while serving the needs of local communities at an affordable cost to parents.”
Coaching assignments to be announced in the next month prior to June 6 tryouts.
