The up-and-down season for the Oak Grove baseball team continued Wednesday in a 7-2 non-conference loss to Savannah as the team fell to 9-8 overall.

The Savages scored two runs in the first inning, two in the third, one in the fifth and two in the sixth. The Panthers scored two in the first.

Tanner Lowrey was 1-for-3 with one run scored and an RBI. Quin Schnieders and Devon Hudson had the other two hits for Oak Grove.

Garrison Walton suffered the loss as he gave up four runs on four hits and walked three in three innings.

“We just didn’t play well, plain and simple,” Panthers coach Evan Jones said. “Three hits against average pitching will never get the job done. Tip your hat to Savannah, they competed at the plate and swung the bats really well.”
