The Truman girls basketball team got it done at the free throw line Monday night.

The Patriots sank 26 of 29 shots from the line, including a 20-of-22 performance in the fourth quarter, to claim a 60-43 win over host St. Joseph Central Monday night.

Truman jumped to a 14-8 lead after one quarter behind three 3-pointers from Erin Davis and led 34-26 entering the final quarter.

Davis finished with 17 points and Brodi Byrd added 16. Deon Monroe sank 9 of 10 free throws for 11 points, and Kaylie Simonds was 7 of 8 from the line for nine points. Becca Gilpin chipped in seven points.

RUSKIN 54, FORT OSAGE 40: The Eagles spoiled the Indians’ Senior Night with a road victory Monday in a Suburban Middle Six showdown.

Deja Brown led Ruskin with 17 points and Tamya McCray added 15. Rachel Buntin led Fort Osage with 13 points and Alecia Monday had nine.

The Indians trailed 12-10 at the end of first quarter, but tied it at 22 at halftime. Ruskin nudged ahead 34-30 going into the fourth before outscoring the Indians 20-10 in the final period to pull away.

Fort Osage dropped to 11-9 overall and 2-5 in the conference.
