Miles Buttress missed a medal by three strokes as the Blue Springs boys golf team tied for ninth place in the Camdenton Invitational Wednesday.
Buttress shot 81 but the medal cutoff was 78 for the top 15 individuals at the par-72 Club at Old Kinderhook course. The Jaguars totaled 336 as a team.
Columbia Rock Bridge tallied a 294 total to win the tournament. Lee’s Summit North finished 19th at 361 and Blue Springs was 22nd at 370.
Grant Wall fired an 84, Dylan Boyer shot 85 and Ryan Dykhouse shot 86 to complete Blue Springs South’s scoring.
Michael Foster shot 82 to lead Lee’s Summit North, followed by Kohlin Hicks (88), Raef Campbell (95) and Brock Witmer (96).
Zach Van Dorn carded an 89 to pace Blue Springs. Seth Widoner shot 91 and Ben Podjenski, Caden Jackley and Blake Rooney each shot 95.
PATRIOTS TAKE SECOND: Jacob Freers shot 47 as Truman finished second in a three-team meet with Raymore-Peculiar and Raytown Wednesday.
Truman totaled 195 to finish behind Ray-Pec (174) and ahead of Raytown (209) at the par-35 River Course at Heart of America Golf Academy in Swope Park.
Damon Freers and Logan Freers each shot 49, Karl Manoza posted a 50 and Ethan Bradshaw 51 for the Patriots.
“We are exactly where we need to be during this part of the season,” Truman coach Joey Penner said. “Our golfers have shown steady improvement and that is all I could ask for going forward.”
Chaz Taibi of Ray-Pec shot 40 to earn medalist honors.
