Colton Barnes and Jace Collum both earned all-conference honors as Grain Valley finished third in the Missouri River Valley Conference West Championships Monday at par-70 Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg.
Grain Valley totaled 364 to finish behind Pleasant Hill (337) and Excelsior Springs (360). Oak Grove took fourth at 378.
Barnes fired an 84 to tie for fourth and Collum tied for eighth at 90. Jake Halteman (91), Tye Bartlett (99) and Brad Kitsmiller (104) completed Grain Valley’s card.
“Happy for Colton and Jace for earning all conference. We finally had a great day to play,” Eagles coach Andy Herbert said. “This is a good way to prepare for next week’s district tournament. Hopefully we can have a good week of practice and be ready to go.”
Kalen Kemp fired an 87 to finish sixth and earn all-conference honors for Oak Grove.
Kenton Wilhoit shot 91, followed by Mason Cairer (99), Dalton Gorham (101) and Olivia Johnson (110) to complete Oak Grove’s scoring.
SUBURBAN MIDDLE SIX CHAMPIONSHIPS: All five Fort Osage golfers earned honorable mention all-conference honors as the Indians captured third place in the Suburban Middle Six Championships Monday.
Mallecki Terrazas and Kobe Rawlings each shot 107, followed by Devin Morrow (110), Truman Gricher (111) and Justice Fluty (112).
Fort Osage totaled 435 at the par-72 course at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex.
“(We) had a very successful day at the conference tournament,” Fort Osage coach Jon Gregory said.
SUBURBAN BIG SIX CHAMPIONSHIPS: Truman totaled 423 to finish fifth in the Suburban Big Six Championships at par-71 Moila Country Club in St. Joseph.
Ethan Bradshaw fired a 99 to lead the Patriots, followed by Damon Freers (106), Karl Manoza (107), Logan Freers (111) and Jacob Freers (112).
Host St. Joseph Central shot 324 to top Liberty (333) for the team title.
