The Grain Valley boys soccer team managed only eight shots on goal, but the Eagles made one of those count in a 1-0 victory against the Winnetonka Griffins in a Suburban Small Seven matchup.
Nate Booker scored the lone Eagles (2-2-1, 1-1 conference) in the 75th minute. Goalkeeper Bryant Madden notched the shutout.
“It wasn’t always pretty tonight, but we did enough the get he job done and get our first Suburban Conference win,” Grain Valley coach Tyler Nichol said. “Nate made a great hustle play on a through ball to beat the keeper to the ball and chip it over him into the net.”
OAK PARK 4, WILLIAM CHRISMAN 0: Bears head coach John Straub said Tuesday’s Suburban Middle Seven game was closer than the score indicated, but his team fell to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play after a loss to the Northmen. Chrisman had just three shots on goal.
