The Blue Springs volleyball team didn’t let a 6-0 deficit in the first set get it down Wednesday night.

The Wildcats rallied from that early hole and rolled to a 25-14, 25-16 Suburban Big Six home victory over the Lee’s Summit West Titans.

“We got down early in set one but fought back by being aggressive and smart,” Blue Springs coach Katie Straka said after her team improved to 9-11-1 overall and 4-4 in the conference. “Offensively we were super efficient and versatile.”

Niya Harris knocked down eight kills, while Aliyah Bello and Chloe Kaminski each added seven. Setter Lily Letchworth dished out 25 assists and chipped in with three kills.

“Defensively Aliyah, Chloe and libero Alex Gabbert all had over 20 digs,” Straka said. “Solid team win, energetic defensive effort and smart all-around play.”

Lee's Summit West dropped to 16-7 overall and 6-3 in the Big Six.
