The William Chrisman boys basketball team used a balanced scoring attack to capture an easy 80-53 win over the Lincoln Pre Blue Tigers p in the first round of the Summit Grill Classic Monday at Lee’s Summit High School.

Tony Hilton and Zachariah Rowe led the Bears (11-3) with 17 points each, Dawson Herl added 10 and Marcus Wigfall chipped in with eight. All 11 players on the Chrisman roster scored.

Chrisman will face Lee’s Summit West in the semifinals at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

LATHROP 71, VAN HORN 62: The Falcons fell to 6-7 on the season after falling to host Lathrop in the championship game of the Bill Burns Classic Monday at Lathrop High School.

Jaden Monday led the Falcons with 25 points and Xavier Marrero added 15.

TRUMAN 41, LEE’S SUMMIT 39: The Truman girls basketball team was in a battle with Lee’s Summit West in the first round of the Truman Tournament.

The Titans cut Truman’s lead to one with 1:50 left, but the Patriots were able to hang on for a victory Monday.

Deon Monroe led Truman with 13 points and Becca Gilpin added 12, all coming on 3-pointers.

Truman, which improved to 6-6 overall, led 23-22 at halftime.

The Patriots advance to Thursday's5:30 p.m. semifinal against St. Thomas Aquinas or Raytown.
