William Chrisman can boast of a Suburban Middle Seven Conference swimming champion.

Megan Bruch claimed a conference title and a runner-up finish to lead the Bears to a fifth-place finish in the Middle Seven Championships Saturday at Gladstone Community Center.

The Bears totaled 156 points. Belton claimed the team title with 486.

Truman finished sixth in the Suburban Large Seven meet Saturday at Gladstone, totaling 61 points. Liberty North won the team crown with 511.

Bruch triumphed in the 500-yard freestyle by more than 26 seconds with a time of 6 minutes, 2.77 seconds. She also captured second place in the 200 freestyle in 2:15.68 to lead Chrisman.

Kiersten Playter also earned a pair of all-conference honors for the Bears with a fourth-place finish in the 100 backstroke (1:15.86) and a fifth-place finish in the 200 individual medley (2:43.98). Katelyn Branstetter took ninth in the 100 backstroke (1:22.14). Chrisman was fourth in the 200 freestyle relay (2:03.39) and fifth in the 200 medley relay (2:20.51).

Rian Caswell led Truman with a 15th-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:19.21). The Patriots were fourth in the 200 freestyle relay (2:04.11) and fifth in the 200 medley relay (2:17.31).
