After losing to Liberty in a heartbreaker earlier in the season, the Truman girls basketball team got its revenge as it earned a 39-33 win in Suburban Large Seven Conference action Monday.
The Patriots (10-11, 4-4) led 12-6 at the end of the first quarter, but the Blue Jays rallied to take a 19-14 halftime lead. Truman came back to lead after the third quarter 23-22 before outscoring Liberty 17-11 in the fourth.
Deon Monroe led Truman with 15 points, followed by Rosie Braley with 11 and Becca Gilpin with eight.
BARSTOW 60, VAN HORN 28: Barstow blitzed visiting Van Horn in the first quarter and cruised from there to a Crossroads Conference victory Monday.
Barstow led 21-8 after one quarter and 34-13 at halftime.
Lexi Robinson's seven points led Van Horn, which fell to 10-11 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
TRUMAN 65, KEARNEY 56: The Patriots used a balanced-scoring attack, having four players in double figures to earn a non-conference win against the Bulldogs Monday.
Truman jumped out to a 23-5 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Kearney stormed back to narrow the gap to 33-26 at halftime. Truman pushed the lead to 46-36 at the end of the third before hanging on for the win.
Sam Billimon led Truman (10-11) with 16 points, followed by Jeilel Phillips with 14, Don Edmondson with 13 and Kaimen Lennox with 12.
