The Lee’s Summit North Broncos didn’t have much trouble dispatching the Grain Valley Eagles as they earned a 9-0 win Monday.

In singles play, No. 1 singles player Joe Hammerly beat Joel Florida 10-4, No. 2 Nick Mathis topped Dean Mobley 10-4, No. 3 Matthew DeBacker beat Trent Tarrants 10-6, No. 4 Logan Leslie defeated Bryson Martin 10-2, No. 5 Lukas Parrish defeated Jesse Arnold 10-0 and No. 6 Michael Welsh beat Tristan Whitton 10-2.

In doubles play, the No. 1 duo of Hammerly and DeBacker beata Florida and Tarrants 8-4, the No. 2 team of Mathis and Leslie beat Mobley and Arnold 8-1 and the No. 3 tandem of Parrish and Welsh won against Martin and Whitton 8-1.

“Today was the first warm day of the season, and I was curious on how our players would respond,” North coach Stu Reece said. “Overall, we played pretty solid match, but I am hoping we can continue to improve throughout the season. Grain Valley always puts up a great fight for every point.”
