The William Chrisman baseball team got a fifth-inning run and a strong relief pitching performance to claim a Suburban Middle Seven victory Tuesday.

Connor Yeisley scored on Andru Campos’ RBI groundout in the fifth inning to break a 4-4 deadlock as the Bears went on to claim a 6-4 win over host North Kansas City.

Frankie Gervy hit a two-run single to cap a four-run third inning and then allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out two over three scoreless innings to earn the victory.

Gervy’s hit gave the Bears a 4-2 lead, but the Hornets tied it with two runs in the bottom of the third.

Seth Gossett added an insurance RBI single in the seventh inning.

Alex Johnson added two hits and scored a run for Chrisman, which improved to 4-5 overall and 2-2 in the Middle Seven with its third straight win.

Yeisley started on the mound for the Bears, allowing four runs, three walks and five hits in four innings.
