Trey Lockard was stellar in Wednesday’s Suburban Middle Seven Conference contest against Oak Park.

The junior left-hander tossed a one-hitter, allowing just one unearned run and striking out six in a 6-1 win over the host Northmen.

Logan Phillips backed him up on offense with two hits and two runs scored. Ben Long had a double and Von Young had an inside-the-park home run and two RBIs for the Indiansm who improved to 7-13 overall and 6-1 in the conference.

PARK HILL 2, BLUE SPRINGS SOUTH 0: The Jaguars couldn’t get their offense going as they fell to 10-7 overall and 4-2 in the Suburban Big Six Conference after a loss to the host Trojans Wednesday.

Park Hill scored one run in the second and the other in the third.

Matt Trout was the losing pitcher after tossing three innings. South had eight strikeouts and one walk. Brady Strickert picked up two of the Jaguars’ five hits.

“We pitched good enough to win, but our bats are cold right now,” South coach Ben Baier said. “We can’t seem to get the timely hit that we need lately.”
