Blue Springs Post 499 Fike exploded for five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and that was enough to come away with a 7-5 win over the Kansas City Eagles in the first game of the Satchel Paige Tournament Friday.
Easton Harmsen picked up the win as he tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings in relief of starter Avery Masoner, who gave up four runs on five hits and walked four. Harmsen gave up just one hit and struck out four. Christian Lynn got the save as he pitched a scoreless seventh inning.
Brad Kitsmiller led the way for the Fike offense, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Harmsen had two RBIs, Aaron Jones had a hit and two runs and Tyler Slinkerd doubled.
