Carter Bradford tossed a gem for the Lee’s Summit Outlaws.

He had a complete game, allowing just two runs (one earned) on five hits and struck out eight during a 6-2 win over St. Joseph Post 11 in Game 1 of a Zone 2 doubleheader Thursday at Legacy Park.

The Outlaws made it a sweep with a 5-0 victory in the nightcap.

In the first game, the Outlaws trailed 1-0 after two innings, but came back to score three in the third and three in the fifth to seize control.

TJ Nichols paced the offense by going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Jaxson Hill had a hit, two runs and an RBI and Justin Hopson had a hit and a run scored.

Balke Marnholtz and Nichols combined for a six-hit shutout in the second game. Marnholtz allowed one hit, two walks and struck out one in three innings to start. Nichols allowed five hits and a walk while striking out four in four innings.

Ben Kobel hit a solo home run in the sixth inning and drove in two runs. Marnholtz was 2-for-4 with a run and Nichols added a hit and an RBI.
