The Rod’s Sports A’s used solid pitching and timely hitting to sweep a doubleheader against the Sedalia Post 642 Travelers Wednesday on the Road.
The A’s took the first game 3-2 and the second 5-4. In Game 1, Matt Eisenreich allowed just two runs on seven hits and struck out five to pick up the win. Christian Garcia pitched two scoreless innings of relief, allowing just two walks for the save.
Sedalia had a two-run lead going into the fifth before the A’s scored three in the top of the inning to take the lead for good. Cam Leftwich, Coter Nelson and Michael Bledsoe each had a hit and an RBI for the A’s.
In Game 2, Blue Springs trailed 4-1 before scoring four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to notch a walk-off victory.
Jake Reed pitched three innings in relief, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out one to pick up the win. Bryce Perdieu was the starting pitcher and allowed two runs on three hits, he walked three and struck out two.
Garcia was 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI; Jared Larson had a hit, a run and an RBI; and Micha Copeland had a hit and two runs.
