The Lee’s Summit Outlaws rallied from a big deficit to salvage a split with the Sedalia Post 642 Travelers in a Zone 2 American Legion baseball doubleheader Thursday.

Trailing 8-3, the Outlaws scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and scored three in the sixth to tie it 10-10. Ben Kobel then doubled home the winning run in the bottom of the seventh for an 11-10 win.

Sedalia claimed an 8-3 win in the first game at Liberty Park Stadium in Sedalia.

Kobel and Wyatt Urzendowski led the comeback for the Outlaws in the second game. Kobel finished 3-for-5 with the game-winning RBI and two runs and Urzendowski was 3-for-4 with two doubles, four RBIs and two runs.

Jaxson Hill added two hits, including a double, and an RBI, TJ Nichols doubled with and RBI and Blake Marnholtz had a hit and two RBIs to help boost the Outlaws.

Jeremy Root claimed the win in relief, throwing the final 1 2/3 innings while allowing one hit.

Sedalia rallied in the first game, erasing a 2-1 lead for the Outlaws with a seven-run outburst in the sixth inning to claim the win. Five of the seven runs were unearned.

Root led the Outlaws with two hits, including a double, and Justin Hopson had a hit and an RBI.
