Blue Springs Post 499 Fike finished the American Legion Wood Bat Invitational with a 3-2 record after an 11-2 five-inning, mercy-rule victory over St. Peters Post 313.

Caden Rardon got the win as he allowed just one run on two hits and struck out four. Aaron Jones paced the Fike offense by going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs; Tommy Mortallaro was 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI; Christian Lynn was 1-for-2 with two runs and an RBI; and Tyler Slinkard and Brad Kitsmiller each had a run, a hit and an RBI for Post 499.

BLUE SPRINGS ROD’S SPORTS A’S 10, KANSAS SENATORS 1: The A’s only had four hits but took advantage of five errors and five walks from the Kansas Senators to roll to a five-inning, mercy-rule win in a crossover game at the American Legion Wood Bat Invitational.

Kalib Martin picked up the win as he tossed four innings and allowed just one run on two hits and struck out two. Bryce Perdieu and Christian Garcia each had two runs, a hit and an RBI; Jared Larson had a hit, a run and an RBI; and Sam Carlson had a hit and an RBI for the A’s (19-9).
