The William Chrisman boys soccer team tried to rally from a 3-0 deficit to Excelsior Springs in the first half but came up just short Thursday.

The result was a 3-2 loss to the championship game of the Winnetonka Tournament at Staley High School.

The Tigers scored three goals within the first 28 minutes to take a 3-2 lead. Chrisman’s Zane Brende scored a pair of goals in the 51st and 53rd minute to cut into the lead, but the Bears couldn’t muster another score to send it into overtime.
