The William Chrisman rolled to a Suburban Middle Seven victory over Ruskin Tuesday.
Courtney Taylor and J'lea Berry each had six kills as the Bears claimed a 25-13, 25-4 victory over the host Eagles.
Laycee Papa had five ace serves and Brooklyn Burkey dished out 14 assists as Chrisman improved to 7-10 overall and 4-2 in the conference.
On Saturday, William Chrisman tied for fifth place in the Platte County Tournament.
Chrisman split with Winnetonka, winning 25-18 and falling 25-16. The Bears then topped Smithville 26-24, 27-25. The lost 25-8, 25-14 to Park Hill and then lost 25-17, 25-16 to St. Joseph Central to drop to 6-10 overall.
Gia Moore led all hitters with 20 kills and Taylor added 15. Burkey had 25 assists and six ace serves and Patience Farmer had 25 digs.
BLUE SPRINGS SOUTH 25-31, PARK HILL 9-29: A spark from the bench lifted the Blue Springs South volleyball team to a Suburban Big Six victory over Park Hill Monday.
The Jaguars cruised to a 25-9 first-set win but had to outlast the host Trojans 31-29 in the second set to claim the conference win.
“Shout out to our bench for their awesome involvement in the game,” Blue Springs South coach Mallori Perry said.
Kylie Gregory knocked down 12 kills and Ava Epperson added seven to lead the Jaguars (8-9), who snapped a four-match losing streak. Marti Strickert dished out 16 assists.
The Blue Springs South junior varsity claimed a 25-23, 16-25, 15-10 victory.
LEE’S SUMMIT NORTH BRONCO INVITATIONAL: Lee’s Summit North captured fourth place and Truman won the consolation bracket during the Lee’s Summit North Bronco Invitational Saturday.
In Silver Pool play, North defeated Truman (25-18, 25-19) and lost to eventual tournament champion Jefferson City (23-25, 25-22, 26-27) and Liberty (12-25, 20-25). Truman lost to Jefferson City (15-25, 18-25) and Liberty (11-25, 20-25).
North defeated Notre Dame de Sion (25-15, 25-13) in the first round of bracket play but lost to Liberty (25-17, 25-18) in the semifinals. Lee’s Summit then defeated the Broncos 25-13, 19-25, 25-19 in the third-place match.
Truman fell 25-6, 27-25 to Lee’s Summit in the first round of bracket play, but bounced back to defeat Pleasant Hill (25-16, 25-11) and then Notre Dame de Sion (25-20, 25-20) to win the consolation side of the bracket.
