The Blue Springs South boys swimming and diving team challenged itself in two ways Tuesday.
Most of the Jaguars swam in back-to-back events in a four-team meet that featured state power Rockhurst at the Blue Springs Family YMCA.
Rockhurst swept all 12 events to win the meet with 807 points. The Jaguars finished second at 542, ahead of Warrensburg (293) and Marshall (24).
“This was a good test for us after having such a successful weekend at COMO (Invitational),” South coach Errich Oberlander said. “I was really interested in seeing how we would respond. It went well. Most of the team swam in back to back events to give them even a tougher test.”
South sophomore George Bahr, who qualified for state in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200 freestyle at the COMO Invitational Saturday, took second in the 200 individual medley in a state consideration time of 2 minutes, 10.85 seconds. He also finished third in the 50 freestyle (24.83).
Josh Hafner took third in both the 100 freestyle (54.32) and 500 freestyle (5:47.70), and Landon Luke was third in the 100 butterfly in a state consideration time of 59.37 seconds.
Bahr, Luke, Hafner and Carter McIntosh finished second in the 200 medley relay in a state consideration time of 1:50.38.
