The Van Horn boys soccer team only needed one goal Thursday.
But the Falcons held Maranatha Christian Academy without a shot on goal and put on an offensive show in an 8-0 rout Thursday at Van Horn High School.
Angel DeAvila recorded a hat trick and an assist, Edinson Rios added two goals and two assists and Juan Rangel scored two goals as the Falcons improved to 15-3 overall and 3-0 in the Crossroads Conference.
DeAvila scored in the 12th and 18th minutes for a 2-0 lead. Carson Sumpter made it 3-0 in the 27th minute and Rangel scored in the 37th to make it 4-0 at halftime.
Enil Arteaga added two assists, while Julio Rios and Joxel Figueroa each had one assist.
Cooper Sumpter didn’t have to make a save to post the shutout.
WILLIAM CHRISMAN 3, RAYTOWN 1: Tanner Jolley scored two goals as William Chrisman won for the second time in a row with a Suburban Middle Seven home victory Thursday.
Jolley scored in the 12th minute as the Bears (5-11, 3-5 Middle Seven) took a 1-0 lead into halftime. He scored again in the 48th minute to make it 2-0.
Joseph Casebolt scored in the 73rd minute for a 3-0 advantage before Raytown added a goal in the final two minutes to spoil the shutout by goalkeeper Javier Merino.
NORTH KANSAS CITY 5, FORT OSAGE 0: Fort Osage fell to 2-13 overall and 1-7 in the Suburban Middle Seven loss to host North Kansas City Thursday.
BLUE SPRINGS SOUTH 5, PEMBROKE HILL 1: Five different players scored as Blue Springs South cruised to a home win over Pembroke Hill Wednesday.
Dylan Shuker and Daniel Park scored to give the Jaguars a 2-0 halftime lead. Bradyn McIntyre, Jacksyn McIntyre and Dumaga Ihenacho added second-half goals as the Jaguars improved to 6-9 overall.
