Blue Springs senior golfer Lauren Muller remains in contention after the first round of the state tournament.

Muller fired an 86 in the first round of the Class 2 Missouri State High School Girls Golf Championships Monday at par-72 Silo Ridge Golf Club in Bolivar.

After one round, she is five strokes away from the all-state cutoff of the top 15 and ties. She is tied for 27th entering today’s final round.

Blue Springs South freshman Maya McVey shot 93 in her first state round of her high school career. She is tied for 56th.

Lee’s Summit North sophomore Harrison Clemmons finished in a tie for 59th after shooting 94.

Grain Valley senior Taylor Hileman shot 100 in her first trip to state. She is tied for 74th.

Notre Dame de Sion’s Megan Propeck fired a 1-under-par 71 to take a one-stroke lead for medalist heading into today’s final round. Sion is second in the team standings, totaling 309. St. Joseph’s Academy of St. Louis leads at 299 – just 11 over par as a team – and Jackson is third at 345.
