The Van Horn wrestling team got its season started Tuesday with three victories.

The Falcons dominated North Kansas City 60-22, defeated host Grandview 45-34 and topped St. Joseph Central 51-30.

Ethan Moses (120 pounds), Steven Campos (132), Da’Marcus Penson (145), Chandler Seevers (160), C.J. Batchelder (170) and Aaron Maluia (285) all recorded two wins on the mat to help the Falcons sweep.

Batchelder earned a pair of pins, including one in just nine seconds against Grandview. Moses also had a pair of first-period pins in 33 seconds against North Kansas City and 1:02 against St. Joseph Central.

Penson also had pins against Central (39 seconds) and Grandview. Seevers had a pair of second-period pins against Grandview and Northtown. Maluia had a 52-second pin against North Kansas City and won a 6-3 decision against Central. Campos had a third-period pin against Central and won an 8-4 decision against Grandview.

Keanu Sua (182) and Jayton Jeffery (191) also added pins against Central.

The Falcons capitalized on six forfeit wins against North Kansas City and four against Grandview.
