The Blue Springs South wrestling team was unable to overcome a 5-2 deficit in forfeits in a 64-18 Suburban Big Six loss to the Lee’s Summit West Titans Tuesday.
Danny Hampton (106 pounds) recorded a pin early in the second period, and Cooper Boyles (195) and Zander Dombroski (145) won by forfeit for the Jaguars.
“We definitely had a tough road ahead of us tonight,” South coach Doug Black said. “We knew coming in that West was a solid team and we tried to hold our own. Our main goal was winning the individual matches that were actually contested. We came up a bit short, but we saw some good things to go move forward with.”
Lee’s Summit West recorded four pins in the six matches contested.
