Three Blue Springs South wrestlers finished in the top five as the Jaguars finished 12th in North Kansas City High School’s Joe Crouthers Invitational Saturday.
The Jaguars totaled 105 points to take 12th. Truman finished 13th with 82 points, while Liberty North captured the team title with 358.5.
Cooper Boyles finished fourth in the 195-pound weight bracket to lead Blue Springs South. Danny Hampton (106) and Evan Thielen (182) each finished fifth.
David Brack led Truman with a third-place finish in the heavyweight division. He topped Park Hill’s Logan Lasater 7-5 in the third-place match.
WONDER WOMAN: The Fort Osage girls wrestling squad had three finish in the top five and one claim a title to finish 14th in the Wonder Woman Tournament at Battle High School in Columbia Saturday.
Fort Osage tallied 90 points, while Wentzville Holt won the team tite with 162.
Fort Osage freshman Haley Ward remained undefeated at 18-0 to claim the 130-pound division crown. She defeated Harrisonville’s Nonnie Justice 7-0 in the final.
Rachel Rellihan (142) captured third place, defeating William Chrisman’s Meraid Jorgensen with a third-period pin in the third-place match. Fort’s Tess Kinne (135) claimed fifth place.
Truman’s Ava Miller claimed fifth place in the 166-pound division.
PLEASANT HILL GIRLS INVITATIONAL: Lee’s Summit North had a runner-up and Blue Springs had a champion and a fourth-place finisher in the Pleasant Hill Girls Invitational Saturday.
Brooklyn Mecham took second at 125 pounds for North, which totaled 27 points to finish 12th.
Rhian Kempf won the 142B division and Mady Banker finished fourth at 125 to lead Blue Springs, which was 14th with 16 points.
Keren Rosario finished fourth in 166A to lead Grain Valley, which was 16th with 14.
