Jackson County restaurant inspections – Blue Springs, July 17-28

The Jackson County Environmental Health Division inspects sites where food is served outside Independence and Kansas City. Recent inspection results in Blue Springs include:

Dunkin Donuts, 1225 N.W. Missouri 7, inspected July 15. No violations found.

Cosentino’s Price Chopper, 1305 N. Missouri 7, inspected July 15. No violations found.

QuikTrip, 1201 N. Missouri 7, inspected July 15. No violations found.

Sonic Drive-In, 2323 N. Missouri 7, inspected July 20. No violations found.

Back Yard Burgers, 1900 N.W. Missouri 7, inspected July 21. No violations found.

Jack In The Box, 808 N. Missouri 7, inspected July 27. No violations found.

Burger King, 1001 N.E. Coronado Drive, inspected July 28. No violations found.

Texas Roadhouse, 455 N.E. Coronado Drive, inspected July 28. No violations found.

Little General Store, 1017 N.W. Woods Chapel, inspected July 27.

• The only source of lighting in the dry storage room is with three plug-in lamps. The lighting is not sufficient to detect spills and broken glass if this were to occur. Correct by Sept. 13.

• Broken glass was observed on the floor in the dry storage area. Correct by Sept. 13.

• Food items that were being held in reach-in cooler were observed with a temperature above 41 degrees F. The surface temperature was read at 48 degrees F. An internal temperature was taken of a bottle of milk. The milk registered with an internal temperature of 46 degrees F. The manager was instructed to discard all of the food items that were held in the cool for longer than four hours. Corrected on site.

• No sign to remind employees to wash their hands in the restrooms. Correct by Sept. 13.

Subway, 600 N. Missouri 7, inspected July 16. No violations found.

Panera Bread, 605 N.E. Coronado Drive, inspected July 17.

• Observed black buildup and food debris inside the reach-in cooler. Corrected on site. Employee cleaned and sanitized the inside.

• Observed black buildup in the cabinet under the drink station in the lobby. Correct by Sept. 15.

• Observed black buildup on wall at three-compartment sink. Correct by Sept. 15.

Taco Bell, 525 N.E. Coronado Dr, inspected July 21.

• Failure to provide food handler cards for multiple employees. Correct by Aug. 16.

• Observed dishes/utensils that were stored as clean had stuck-on food debris. Corrected on site. Employee placed these in the sink to be washed.

• Observed potentially hazardous ready-to-eat food stored on the make table that was not maintaining proper cold handling temperatures of 41 degrees F or below.

• Diced tomato temperature was 56 to 59 degrees F.

• Accumulation of build-up on soda gun nozzles at the bar. Corrected on site.

• Observed an unlabeled chemical bottle. Corrected on site. Manager placed label on the bottle.

• Observed a container of pizza sauce and sliced cheese without dates to indicate the discard dates. Employees placed correct dates on all undated products.

• Grease buildup on the floor behind the grill and fryers. REPEAT violation. Correct by Sept. 15.

Giggle-N-Jiggle Family Fun Center, 3713 U.S. 40, inspected July 17. No violations found.

Meiner’s Phillips 66, 1005 N.E. Coronado Drive, inspected July 20.

• Observed trash debris in the back storage area where the bulk soda boxes are stored. Correct by Sept. 18.

Courtyard by Marriott, 1500 N.E. Coronado Drive, inspected July 20.

• Observed container of cut melons stored in walk-in cooler with no dates. Corrected on site.

• Observed an unlabeled chemical bottle. Corrected on site.
