Library summer reading program extended

The Examiner staff

The Kansas City Public Library system has extended its summer reading program to Aug. 31.

This summer’s theme is “Live the Fantastic,” and the program is open to those of all ages, including adults. Register at kclibrary.org/summerreading.

Those in the program read five stories – in the reader’s preferred format – and log them in to earn a prize. You can read books from the library or books of your own.

The library also has suggested reading lists.

The library is using Beanstack for people to log the books they have read, or readers can download the Beanstack Tracker app.

To get a library card, call 816-701-3400 or go to kclibrary.org/services/accounts.

The library also has eBook and digital audiobook editions at kclibrary.org/digital.

The library has 10 locations, including the Trails West branch at 11401 E. 23rd St. in Independence and the Sugar Creek branch at 102 S. Sterling Ave.
