By The Associated Press

SHAWNEE, Kan. (AP) — Law enforcement officials in Kansas and Missouri expect to spend most of this week sorting through hundreds of thousands of dollars in stolen equipment that was recovered during the weekend.

A tip led Lenexa and Shawnee police to a property in Shawnee on Saturday, where officers found stolen items including trailers, heavy construction equipment, tools and firearms, KCTV reported.

On Monday, Kyle Davey 35, of Shawnee was charged with two counts of felony theft and two counts of unlawful possession of controlled substances.

Lenexa police spokesman Danny Chavez said numerous detectives and crime analysts from different agencies are sorting through the property. So far, items have been returned to 11 victims.

Most of the property was stolen in Johnson County, Kansas, and in Jackson County, Missouri.
