Independence police investigate shooting

Independence Police are investigating a Monday evening shooting that left one man wounded.

The shooting happened about 8:40 p.m. Monday, police said, in the 2200 block of Sterling Avenue, just north of 23rd Street. Officers found the victim in a residential driveway, and he was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police said Tuesday the victim was conscious and able to talk with investigators.
