Murphy graduates from Missouri Military Academy
John Murphy, of Independence, graduated from Missouri Military Academy this spring with the rank of lieutenant colonel in the 131st MMA Corps of Cadets.
He was the salutatorian of his graduating class, a member of both the National Honor Society and Delta Phi Honor Society.
He plans to attend Clemson University this fall. John is the son of Robert and Ann Murphy.
Cooper graduates from Southern Arkansas
Kathryn Cooper of Lee’s Summit graduated, cum laude, from Southern Arkansas University this spring with a bachelor of science degree in pre-health professional biochemistry. She was also named to the dean’s list, which is for students with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
Horn graduates from University of San Diego
Douglas Horn of Lee’s Summit graduated from the University of San Diego this spring with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy.
Whiting earns master’s degree at Clemson
Kristy Lynn Whiting of Blue Springs, graduated from Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina, with a master of science degree in wildlife and fisheries biology.
Garcia on UW-Superior dean’s list
Christian Garcia of Blue Springs has been named to the spring dean’s list at the University of Wisconsin at Superior. Students must have achieved a 3.5 grade point average in order to be named to the dean’s list.
Woolf honored by University of Evansville
Haley Woolf, of Lee’s Summit, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at the University of Evansville. In order to be named to the dean’s list, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or above.
Two from area on Hastings dean’s list
Joshua Merithew of Independence and Carlo Terrell of Kansas City have been named to the spring semester dean’s list at Hastings College, in Hastings, Nebraska.
Johnson named to Bradley dean’s list
Kaitlyn Johnson of Independence was named to the dean’s list at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. To qualify, students must have a 3.5 average grade point average.
Rizzi honored at Morningside College
Michael D. Rizzi of Blue Springs was named a Dimmitt Scholar at Morningside College. This honor, named in recognition of a long-term educator, is given to students who have achieved a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.75.
