Vera Marie (Stewart) Williams passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022. Vera was born on May 27, 1937, in Des Moines, IA. She spent her childhood in small towns throughout Iowa and her teenage years in Lamoni, graduating from Lamoni High School. After graduation, she moved to Des Moines, where she met and married Wayne Williams. After a few years in Des Moines, Vera and Wayne moved with their family to Wisconsin, where they lived for 12 years before moving to Independence.

She is survived by her husband Wayne; daughter Dawn Williams of Independence, MO; and son Brian Williams of Lime Springs, IA and his husband Thom Hiniker.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 21 at 11 a.m. at East 39th Street Community of Christ, 15006 E. 39th St. S., Independence. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or Outreach International.
