Furl Lorene Jobe, 92, of Independence, Mo., passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012.

Furl was born on January 17, 1920, in the Eldon, Mo., area. She was the daughter of Jesse Bruce and Barcie Lorene (Cooper) Cox. She was a sewing machine operator for several different companies in the Kansas City area. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Independence, Mo., a volunteer for Independence Regional Health Center and the Medical Center of Independence and a member of the National Humane Society. She loved to embroidery and spent many hours sewing with the Craft Group at Calvary Baptist Church. Furl was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Cleatus R. Jobe, in May of 1987.

Survivors include her son, Ron Jobe and wife, Joy, of Liberty, Mo.; a grandson, Alex Jobe of Liberty, Mo.; and a niece, Bonnie Schryock. She will be missed by family and many friends.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28, with visitation from 9 to 10 a.m., at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be 3:30 p.m. at Olean Cemetery in Olean, Mo.
