The $110,000 project includes flashing signals and gates, and it’s expected to be done this year. The state of Missouri pays 80 percent of the cost, and the railroad pays the rest. Jackson County legislators on Monday approved an agreement to let the work go forward. There is no cost to the county; it’s a party to the agreement because Shuster is a county road.
