DISCOVERY CLUB, 2 p.m. second Tuesday of each month. Open to all patrons, but designed for ages 7 to 12. Length is 30 to 60 minutes, and programs include stores, guest speakers, videos, crafts and activities.
STORYTIME – for ages 2 to 5, 10 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesdays. Book related experiences including picture book reading, storytelling, music, puppets, finger plays, shot videos and simple crafts. Children need to be able to sit by themselves.
BOOK CLUB, 7:30 p.m. second Monday (science fiction/fantasy), 7 p.m. third Monday. Discuss plots, characters and styles in various books. Call to register.
CENTRAL FLORIDA FAMILIES – for ages 5 and older, 7 p.m. May 4. Learn tips and resources for planning your family vacation to Florida. Learn money saving tips, things to watch out for and more. Call to register.
PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB – for teens, 4:30 p.m. May 7. Learn to use your new digital (or old 35 mm) camera, with professional photographer Kelly Douglas, plus composition techniques and more. Call to register.
NOW THAT I HAVE IT, WHAT DO I DO WITH IT – for adults, 7 p.m. May 11. Learn ideas on how to use your current research, while searching for new materials, filing and managing paper and more. Call to register.
JUST A LITTLE ABOUT THE ARTIST – for ages 7 and older, 2 p.m. May 12. Talk about artists, their work and the materials they use. Then try your hand at one of those materials. Call to register.
MAD SCIENCE: Human body – for ages 3 and older, 4:30 p.m. May 19. Learn about the skeletal system through the use of a skeleton model and puzzle. A stethoscope and pump will explain the way the heart works, and learn where your major organs are. Call to register.
OAK GROVE LIBRARY STITCHERS – for adults, 2 p.m. May 26 (four Tuesday of each month.) Bring your own projects and supplies, share ideas, learn or teach. All skill levels welcome. Call to register.
