The Lee’s Summit School District recently added Twitter to the district’s communication tools.

Updates will be posted approximately once each day and available to Twitter members who sign up as Lee’s Summit School District followers. People can view district information at the Twitter site and also become a follower of news updates by clicking on “join today” at www.twitter.com/lsr7.

Once signed up on Twitter, people can follow the Lee’s Summit district by receiving regular updates on the computer or telephone. Please note that the district’s Twitter page is, “LSR7.”

Twitter will supplement the district’s current communications vehicles, which include R-7 News Update, the district’s electronic newsletter; Our Schools community newspaper; the district Web site; Connect-ED recorded telephone messages; school newsletters and information provided to the local media. Twitter allows the district to provide an additional communication tool that is free for Twitter subscribers as well as the school district.

Twitter is a free online service. Through this “micro blog,” users can update family, friends or professional peers in 140-character messages delivered to cell phones or through the Internet.
