Wow! How strange is this: Columnist Jerry Plantz (last Saturday, “As we struggle, corporations desert us”) thinks American corporations are being disloyal and without provocation.

Wow! How strange is this: Columnist Jerry Plantz (last Saturday, “As we struggle, corporations desert us”) thinks American corporations are being disloyal and without provocation.

The left vilifies those same corporations, their management, their products and services. Then those same liberals demand loyalty from the ones they abuse. How sick is that? It is like the spouse who beats his/her partner all day and expects wonderful sex at night. Folks, both types of abusers need therapy.

Here is the dirty little secret: Starting, running and managing a business is damn hard work that takes its toll. As a family member of mine, a CEO of a multi-million dollar corporation told me, “Bob, my sphincter muscle is always in a knot.” Folks, it must be is a tremendous feat to appear relaxed and confident in that condition.

We, as Americans, must stop looking for someone other than ourselves to blame. If we want more jobs, then it is incumbent on us to demand that the job producers get the help and support required right here in the good ol’ USA. Countries such as Ireland, with a corporate tax rate of 12.5 percent, are providing the love that allows business to thrive and grow. Is it any wonder that our businesses are fleeing like abused refugees?

If you want more jobs, make this country a tax haven. Do away with the IRS and the income tax code, and repeal the 16th Amendment. Replace that draconian nightmare with a fair, simple, transparent consumption tax, paid just one time at the retail level, where all Americans are treated equally under the law. Stop politicians’ abuse of the current tax system. Now they do social engineering, rewarding their friends and punishing their enemies. Nightmare!

Stop that abuse and the trafficking of businesses, and jobs out of America will stop. Immediately, the flow will be inward. America will become the tax haven. America’s companies will return, bringing trillions of dollars with them creating American jobs. Foreign businesses will beat a path to our door with their money, their jobs. America will boom, again.

If you want America to be the envy of the world, then demand it of your elected politicians. If you want America to, once again, be called “that shining city on a hill,” then, climb out of the cart and start pulling. Pull your elected officials where they do not want to go. Reduce their power and return that power to we the people.

Mr. Plantz, you have two choices:

1. Demand change. Make America the place where all businesses want to headquarter.

2. Continue to do the same thing and watch the abused leave. If this is your choice, then be true to your convictions. Start a business, any business as that does not matter. Deal with the red tape, especially the IRS. Hire as many folks as you want (including tax attorneys). Pay them what they want because it is not about making a profit. Do not concern yourself about minor details like customers and their satisfaction. Be single-minded in your business. Just focus, focus like a laser on jobs, jobs and more jobs. Nothing else matters.

The choice you make will have a direct bearing on your sphincter muscle.
