The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has reopened the investigation into a missing juvenile. Kathryn Sholly Seefeldt was last seen leaving her home in western Independence, in the 19000 block of 18th Street North, at about 1 a.m. on Oct. 13, 2002.

Kathryn Sholly Seefeldt was last seen leaving her home in western Independence, in the 19000 block of 18th Street North, at about 1 a.m. on Oct. 13, 2002. Seefeldt would be 21 years old today, according to the sheriff’s office.


She was last seen wearing an unknown shirt with black nylon pants having a white stripe down the side and tennis shoes.


Kathryn is described as a white female, 5 feet and 2 inches and 120 lbs with blonde hair and blue eyes having a small scar on the bridge of her nose from chicken pox. At the time of her disappearance, she was dressed in gothic clothing and had a gothic appearance.


She also went by Katie or Kathy.


The sheriff’s office said Monday that there are no new leads in the investigation. At the time of her disappearance, police said there was nothing suspicious about her disappearance and that she may have run away voluntarily.
