The Grain Valley girls tennis team rolled to yet another victory.

The visiting Eagles easily defeated Odessa 9-0 Monday to claim a fourth consecutive Missouri River Valley Conference title.

Lanae Wilke, Haley Porter, Nathalia Barr, Jessica Dornes, Darby Scharfekamp and Mariah Hernandez posted the Grain Valley wins. The Eagles (11-3) lost only four games.

“I think our play is maturing,” Grain Valley coach Randy Draper said. “You’re supposed to get better.”

Grain Valley was a 6-2 junior varsity winner.

BLUE SPRINGS SOUTH 9, BELTON 0: The host Jaguars posted an easy nonconference victory.

“As we are starting to wind down our season and look to the playoffs, It was good to have a night where everything went just right,” South coach Craig Dierking said.

Morgan Clark, Madison McCulloch, Liia Butler, Leah Bell, Isabella Bowling, Erica McClain and Jordan Burns figured in the South victories. Burns returned after suffering an injury in the season’s first match.

South rolled 8-1 in the junior varsity game.

LEE’S SUMMIT NORTH 6, ST. JOSEPH CENTRAL 3: A sweep of the doubles matches lifted Lee’s Summit North to the home Suburban Big Six victory.

“Our girls played all the big points just a little bit better,” North coach Stuart Reece said. “We are playing with a lot of confidence right now.”

Vilune Sestokaite, Camryn Parnell, Christina Leeper, Jenna Jefferson, Anna Welsh, Christina Leeper and A. Moore took part in the North victories.
