Jan Kraybill, principal organist and director of music at Community of Christ International Headquarters in Independence, celebrates her 10th annual Super Bowl Sunday organ recital with a program consisting entirely of audience requests.

The Super Bowl Sunday Recital X’s “kickoff” is 3 p.m. Sunday at the Community of Christ Auditorium, 1001 W. Walnut St., Independence.

From the many audience requests, Jan has selected a wide-ranging variety of music, including Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue in D minor” (of “Phantom of the Opera” fame), Dupré’s virtuosic “Prelude and Fugue in G minor,” a fantasia on Celtic melodies by Paul Halley, a medley from the “High School Musical” movies, Rossini’s “William Tell Overture,” and more.

The organ in the auditorium was completed in 1959, and was built by Aeolian-Skinner, the preeminent American organ firm of the time. It contains four manuals, 113 ranks, and 6334 pipes, making it the largest instrument in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

The concert is free. For more information, call 816-833-1000.
