The Missouri Comets are hoping their fans are feeling “blue” Saturday.

At 7:35 p.m., they play host to the expansion Norfolk SharX in the first Blue-Out Game at Independence Events Center.

Fans are encouraged to wear Comets blue to the game, and the team will help by distributing Comets T-shirts to the first 2,500 fans.

The Comets are looking to get back to their winning ways – after starting the season 3-0, they have lost back-to-back home games to league powers Baltimore and Milwaukee.

“Our fans are so great, we’re doing everything we can to give them a win,” defender Brian Harris said. “We played Baltimore and Milwaukee tough, but we couldn’t get wins in those games.

“It’s important to come back and get a win against Norfolk.”

The SharX are one of four new expansion teams for the MISL this season. They are 0-2 and have been outscored 44-14 in their two games.

The SharX feature veteran standouts in forwards Matthew Delicate and Gerson dos Santos, who both played for the USL’s Richmond Kickers last season.

Delicate scored 10 goals in league play, and another three goals in U.S. Open Cup action this year, while dos Santos scored twice in 19 games for the Kickers, an outdoor team.

The Comets have two of the top scorers in the MISL in Geison (17) and Vahid Assadpour (15) and reigning league MVP Byron Alvarez has at least one point in all five games this season.
