Lee’s Summit Underwater Rescue and Recovery, Inc., celebrated 45 years of serving the community with a reunion on Sunday, May 22. The group formed in 1966 when a group of divers assisted the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department recover a drowning victim from a local lake. Today, the all-volunteer nonprofit is one of the most advanced dive rescue and recovery teams in the area.
