Blue Springs police seized what they are calling a large amount of methamphetamine following the arrest of three people.
Troy Pharr, spokesperson for police, said police on bike patrol pulled over a car at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of Motel 6, 901 N.W. Jefferson St.
Officers pulled the car over for a turn signal violation, and when they questioned the occupants – a man and woman – they did not answer questions. When they emerged, police noticed a knife in the man’s pocket.
Found inside the car was a small amount of marijuana and an estimated $50,000 worth of methamphetamine.
“It was a big hit,” Pharr said.
Both were taken into custody and charges of possession of a controlled substance are forthcoming.
At about the same time, police entered one of the rooms at the motel and discovered a bag of what was believed to be methamphetamine and a pipe and various supplies.
