Eva Lee Duncan, 85, of Independence, Mo., passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013, at the Payton Place Care Home in Blue Springs, Mo.

Eva Lee Duncan, 85, of Independence, Mo., passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013, at the Payton Place Care Home in Blue Springs, Mo.

Funeral services will be at noon Friday, May 31, at Glenwood Park Methodist 10000 E. 23rd St. South, Independence. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Mount Washington Cemetery, Independence. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Online condolences may be sent in Eva’s memory to meyersfuneralchapel.com.

Eva was born March 24, 1928, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Roy D. and Eithel (Thomas) Rudd. On December 1, 1946, she married Ramon D. Duncan, who survives of the home. She was a member of the Glenwood Park United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed participating in all the church functions, the UMC Womens Club, and going to the Palmer Senior Citizens for activity’s. She retired from the Independence School District as a secretary for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law, Bob Schenck.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Linda Schenck of Gladstone, Mo.; son, Dale Duncan and wife, Laura, of Blue Springs, Mo.; grandchildren, Scott Smiley and wife, Lori, LeAnn Cruce and husband, Scott, Stacy Schenck, Nicole Snider, Natalie Duncan, Natasha Thompson and husband, Shawn; step-grandchildren, Courtney, Whitney and Brittney Tapp; and great-grandchildren, Landon and Kellen Cruce, Austin, Blake and Carson Smiley.
