The pre-council session where many decisions regarding the city’s business are reached behind doors that are not open to the public may soon be coming to an end. It has been the practice of the councilmen to meet at 7 p.m. with representatives of the city counselor’s office and department heads and agree on measures to be taken during the regular session at 8 p.m., which is open to the public. Good Government League councilmen want the 7 p.m. meetings to be open to the press. Dr. Arch Campbell, mayor pro tem said, “I think if the press were in there we wouldn’t get half as much done.”
