Citizens are invited to attend the event, honoring the fallen officers from the Independence and Sugar Creek police departments, at 4 p.m. May 17.


The event takes place in front of Central Headquarters, 223 N. Memorial Drive across from Independence City Hall. U.S. Attorney Beth Phillips, Western District of Missouri, will be the ceremony’s guest speaker.
