The Grain Valley baseball team withstood a seven-run Odessa rally in the bottom of the seventh inning to hold on for a 13-8 victory Thursday.

Lucas Williams pitched the opening six innings for the Missouri River Valley Conference West victory and singled twice with two RBIs. Dylan Farrell led the visiting Eagles' 13-hit attack with single, double and triple and four RBIs.

“Williams threw six innings and was outstanding and had a couple of big hits as well as Farrell,” Grain Valley coach Mark Lyford said.

The Eagles (2-1, 2-0 conference) broke open the game with a five-run sixth inning for a 9-0 lead.
