Bring a blanket to the Oct. 14 Truman High School vs. William Chrisman High School football game.

The Independence School District and the city of Independence are partnering together in “Power-Up for Warmth,” a blanket drive for those in need. Youth volunteers will collect new or freshly dry-cleaned blankets still in their wrappers at the game, which starts at 7 p.m. at 1223 N. Noland Road.

Tickets to the game are $5. The Independence School District will donate $3 of each ticket sale to the Independence School District Foundation to help students and families in need. Independence Power & Light also will match that $3, meaning each ticket sale will result in $6 to benefit students and families.
